CASSE Student Day

Scrabble BullyingIf you do not care, it’s not fair!

CASSE Student teams from primary schools involved in CASSE’s Pilot Program journeyed to St Gabriel’s Primary in Traralgon on May 24 to show they do care and to attend the second CASSE Student Day. The Student Day was a celebration of their role as ‘upstanders’ and leaders in their schools’ commitment to reducing bullying and creating safe, supportive environments for all of their students.

Over 130 students attended the event, accompanied by teachers and parents. The day was packed with activities geared towards teamwork and relationship building across the CASSE community, as well as facilitating mentalisation and celebrating their upstanding behaviour.

There was an overwhelming positive response to the day. Following are some of the comments from attendees:

“I enjoyed pretending to be a bystander, victimizer, upstander and victim and putting it into a play”
“I enjoyed the whole day”
“The best part about my activity group was bonding with others and working together”
“I learnt different ways to Mentalise and Upstand”
“It was so AWESOME!!“
“Thanks for an outstanding day”
