Building resilient children – the fourth ‘R’ in education

By Carolyn Aston

Re: ‘Can we build a better child?’, by Jill Stark, published in The Age, 2 March 2014.

I urge you to read this article and congratulate the journalist, Jill Stark, for a comprehensive discussion on the importance of promoting emotional development & resilience in schools. It resonates strongly with CASSE’s Peaceful Schools Program (PSP), a student-driven, systemic approach which also places great emphasis on the importance of altruism.

CASSE’s PSP aims to engage the entire school community in learning skills similar to those outlined in this article as well as the ‘Upstander’ role in response to bullying & conflict. For more information about CASSE’s PSP, click here.
